Grazie alla loro pressante azione di sensibilizzazione e di stimolo, l’Amministrazione comunale ha mosso un primo importante passo verso solving the problem of stray dogs, from 3rd of June and every Wednesday in June and July, under a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Piazza Armerina and Enna Veterinary AUSL 4, will begin a campaign of microchippatura free of dogs owned by citizens Piazzesi and this will be of paramount importance to establish a serious dog registry in our area. "It's an important first step - said the secretary of a Armerina Gianluca Messina (pictured at right) - At last comes from institutions, a signal of readiness to face and solve the problem of stray dogs, the next step should be to provide for the sterilization of stray, the only useful way to combat the problem. " The voluntary activity
animal is not limited to vigorously seek the commitment of the institutions, but is articulated through personal initiatives aimed at raising public awareness and stimulate the consciences of citizens. In this context, to frame the initiative which will see volunteers UNA Armerina Sunday, May 31, and every last Sunday of the months that followed, the former Siaca in a booth in the traditional cattle fair. There, the volunteers will take some abandoned puppies they found that microhippati and vaccinated, will be available to citizens want to adopt them: "I sincerely hope that the puppies can find a home - says Gianluca Messina - our stand will serve to inform the public on the establishment of the Registry and canine once we deliver to those who wanted them, the puppies found, already vaccinated and microchipped. Will be sufficient to give an identity to associate the identity of the new owners that adopted the puppy. We expect the civil conscience of Piazzesi we recover so that we can restore dignity to our 4-legged friends all together, in person, without delegating to others what it is for everyone. The animal welfare groups are responsible for sensibilizzare, informare ed agire, spogliandosi però dalle tendenze di protagonismo ed egocentrismo e mettendosi invece a totale servizio dei veri ed unici protagonisti: gli animali!».
